Gebhard Electro has been awarded the contract by Damen for the full electrical installation on board the new TSHD 1000 – a modern trailing suction hopper dredger being built for Port Otago and Napier Port in New Zealand.
The scope includes the complete electrical package: power distribution, control panels, cabling, lighting and the Alarm & Monitoring Control System (AMCS).
All systems will be engineered and delivered by Gebhard Electro, with a strong focus on safety, reliability and ease of maintenance.
The TSHD 1000 will be constructed at Shipyard 189 in Haiphong, Vietnam, and is scheduled for delivery in early 2027. The electrical installation is tailored to Damen’s technical standards and the specific operational and sustainability requirements of the ports in New Zealand.
