On Friday 26 June, Gebhard Electro proudly celebrated its 80th anniversary together with customers, partners, suppliers and employees at its headquarters in Oosterhout, the Netherlands.
The event brought together leading companies from the maritime industry for an inspiring afternoon centred around the theme “Navigating the Future.” While celebrating eight decades of maritime electrical engineering, the programme focused on the future of electrification, automation and sustainable maritime solutions.
During the afternoon, ABB, Schneider Electric, Praxis Automation and Martens & Van Oord shared their expertise and vision on the latest developments within the maritime industry. Visitors also explored a dedicated demonstration area where technology partners showcased their latest innovations and had the opportunity to tour Gebhard Electro’s production facilities.
One of the highlights was the presentation by Martens & Van Oord, sharing their experiences with Volta, one of the Netherlands’ first fully electric workboats. The project demonstrated how close cooperation between owner, suppliers and system integrator can successfully accelerate the maritime energy transition.
More than a celebration
While innovation took centre stage during the afternoon, the anniversary was also about celebrating the people and partnerships that have shaped Gebhard Electro over the past 80 years.
The day concluded with an evening celebration where employees, former colleagues, customers and business partners came together to enjoy good food, live music and the warm, informal atmosphere that reflects the Brabant hospitality Gebhard is known for. It was a fitting end to a memorable day filled with inspiring conversations, renewed connections and shared pride.
Looking ahead
Since its foundation in 1946, Gebhard Electro has grown into an international system integrator for the maritime industry, delivering electrical installations, automation systems, high-voltage solutions and integrated energy systems for vessels worldwide.
The anniversary theme, “Navigating the Future,” reflects the company’s ambition to continue supporting customers and partners with innovative, reliable and sustainable electrical solutions for the maritime sector.
